I’m trying to convert the attached image from RGB to CMYK, but I get some major color shifting, mainly the body of the angel turning into a gray to white gradient. I’m sure it has something to do with layer effects, but I’ve messed around with this for over an hour and I’m completely stumped. You can also navigate to Image > Mode. How To Convert Between RGB and CMYK Made a file in Illustrator in CMYK with some very high ink values and an image that exceeded 240%. No conversion in Illustrator, just saved as the default PDF (without flattening). In Acrobat I used Convert Colors, checked the Preserve Black option and choose the CGATS21_CRPC1.icc as destination profile. I created the image in illustrator in CMYK mode and then saved the file as a jpeg/RGB for the purpose of printing this image onto a mug. The faint sand/shell colour came out on the mug as a buttery custard colour. How would I set up the CMYK illustrator colour to come out the way it looks on screen once printed from the RGB Jpeg file? You can change the color mode of a document, after a file is created, by choosing File > Document Color Mode and then selecting either CMYK or RGB in the menu. Simply click on Window > Document Info. A panel will appear that shows not only which color mode (CMYK or RGB) but will also show the profile (eg Coated Fogra). Instead, the color will convert to a CMYK equivalent, which could affect the tones of your design. CW6QX.
